General
Jconfarm in January was a relatively quiet month. This is normally to be expected given the time of year, just after Christmas and the new year.

Jconfarm in January, an update to let you know how things progressed here during the month. In general things were a little quiet, but this is expected given the two busiest times of year Christmas and New Year.
Unfortunately those two events are an expensive time for everybody the world over especially those with families to support. So it is expected that cash will be in short supply for a few weeks after. This is a trend we have experienced over the past few years and expect it to continue in future years. Other than that things went really well.
Function news

I guess the highlight of Jconfarm in January was a wedding reception which we hosted. We host wedding receptions throughout the year but this one was different. It was the largest gathering of guests we have had the pleasure to host so far. The number of guests at this particular wedding reception amounted to three hundred. Usually the number of guests we host number between one to two hundred. So we thank the the couple for giving us this opportunity and wish them luck and happiness in their married life.
Tilapia update

Fresh and cooked Tilapia fish sales were up this month, we think it was because of the Red Tide warnings in Cebu and elsewhere. Normally this is the case when we have Red Tide warnings, at this time it is not safe to eat sea fish. We did have some problems with water shortage in the fish ponds for a while but hopefully that has been rectified now.
Jconfarm hotel update

Bookings in the Jconfarm hotel were normal for the month of January, nothing spectacular there. We did have some foreign guests who transferred to us from another local accommodation, which was nice. When this happens, which has been on a few occasions to date, it shows we must be doing something right. We have joined several on-line booking agents and we hope this will increase tourists to this area.
Restaurant and Bar update

We have noticed an increase in the number of guests using the Jconfarm restaurant, Actually we have seen an increase in this area for some time now which is good news. Both of our ladies in the kitchen, Rowena and Tata who had planned to leave in the new year have now changed their minds and will continue with us, which is also good news.
The Jconfarm bar, continues as usual, we have our regular customers which we look forward to continue serving and we also have many new customers which of course we welcome. We have also had a new recruit for the bar who started last week, his name is Mark. He will be running the day to day bar business, we look forward to working with him.
